Always Have a Backup Plan
The experiment should have been over in a year. The books read, the journals filled, exercises still performed. Food still arrived, but other supplies were dwindling. The room looked different now: smaller and bereft of escape possibilities. He was a week past his release date. Betrayal was the only explanation.
